Joe | Founder & Lead Designer
After graduating from university in Newcastle, UK in 2016 – Joe’s initial career step was into custom sheet metal design and estimation with Almet Sheet Metal. It was working with highly skilled craftsmen and renowned design houses such as Conker Brown and Novocastrian that Joe developed a passion beyond vehicle design and into architectural ironwork.
Moving over to Australia in 2017 without too much of a future plan, all Joe knew was that he wanted to make a home here whilst not forgetting his roots and heritage in the North East of England.
Always experimenting and never afraid to get on the tools, Joe has managed to pick up skills within other industries such as signage, vehicle design and product homologation. Currently perfecting his techniques in sheet metal weathering and patina; you’ll be sure to see more and more of his works out and about.
Makayla | Interior & Finish Designer
One thing you can always count on in this life other than death and taxes is that you’ll never see Makayla sat still. Currently working as a Registered Nurse and studying for a degree in Environmental Science, Makayla somehow manages to squeeze in assisting our design projects.
Makayla has a shrewd eye for colour and texture, something well demonstrated in her travel blogging venture. Currently learning the ropes on our in house photorealism rendering techniques, Makayla adds the ever necessary feminine touch especially when it comes to interior design.
Luis | Industrial Designer & Visualiser
After graduating from university in Mexico, Luis took the bold move in 2016 to begin his career in the USA. This is notwithstanding the experienced gained on multiple industry placements prior to this; one of which happened to be at the same time as Joe.
Since then, Luis has risen through the ranks in consultancy, becoming Lead Designer in Stamford, CT. With a natural knack for high quality concept and visualisation work, Luis is an invaluable asset to the Pica Studio team despite still being based in the USA.
